Prayer Box

Hi everybody! How is your week going?

Today I wanted to share with you a little thing that I’ve been doing and I really love. It’s really helped me in my prayer life and in reaching out to people around me through prayer. It’s a great way to wind down at night and connect with God as well!

A prayer box is something where I write down people’s names and put their prayer request and need on a little slip of paper. Every night, I’ll reach into the box and pull out a slip and I’ll devote that night to praying for that person. It’s been a really rewarding experience for me and hopefully you’ll be able to do it, too!

~ Supplies ~

 

1. Box (or a bag, or basket – it can be anything )

2. Paper

3. Writing Utensil

 

 

 

~ Step One ~

Take your slip of paper and write down the name of the person you want to pray for and their prayer request.

I put their name on the top and their prayer request on the bottom.

 

 

 

~ Step Two ~

 

Put it inside the box with the rest of your prayer slips! If you only have one or two, that’s fine. As time goes on, you’ll meet more people that have more prayer requests!

Even if they don’t specifically ask you to pray for them, maybe you can tell if someone is struggling with something and put that in the box as well!

 

~ Step Three ~

 

Pray! Pray before bed, pray while you’re in bed, pray at school, pray before a meal…

Pray without ceasing – 1 Thessalonians 5:1

You can always find time in the day to devote to prayer.

 

 

~ Step Four ~

 

If your prayer gets answered, then take your little slip of paper and put it on the wall to remind you how God does answer prayer. As time goes on, you’ll begin to see the many prayers that God answered.
