Hey guys! How is your week going?
Lately I’ve been trying to eat healthier and since breakfast is the only meal I prepare for myself, I’ve been trying out some new recipes..and here they are!
1) Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie – New!
– Recipe adapted from the Chubby Vegetarian.
- 1 Frozen Banana
- 1/4 Cup of Peanut Butter
- 1/2 Cup of Milk
- 1/4 Cup of Greek Yogurt
- Crushed Walnuts
I really love starting the day with a good smoothie 🙂 This one was different than my usual, but it was really yummy! I think maybe I could’ve added half a banana more, and since we didn’t have peanuts, I used walnuts, but overall it was yummy! It tasted like peanut butter, and had a banana edge to it.
Overall Rating: 8/10
4) Yogurt Bowl
- 1 Cup of yogurt
- 2 Strawberries
- A little bit of granola
- A sprinkle of chia seeds!
I love this breakfast so much!! I’ve been eating this a lot! It’s always a go-to for me. It offers almost all of the necessary nutrients that you need and is just sooooo yummy and requires no cooking skill at all – and thank goodness for that!! ❤

2) Avocado Egg Boat – New!
– Recipe adapted from Delish.com
- 1/2 Avocado
- Black pepper
Okay…so this didn’t turn out so good. I tried to pour the egg whites on top but ending up spilling like half of it! Anyway, after I baked it I put the salt and pepper on. It was pretty good, but I don’t think I’ll make it again. I prefer the avocado and egg separately.

3) Tropical Avocado Smoothie – New!
- 1/2 Avocado
- 1 Banana
- 1 Cup of frozen tropical fruit
- 1 Cup of milk
This one was super yummy! It had a different flavor to it because of the avocado, but I really liked it! I made it a couple times. It had the consistency of frozen yogurt, so I ate it with a spoon. It was like having dessert – healthy dessert – for breakfast! ❤

Now that I’ve introduced you to some healthy breakfast foods, here are some reasons why you should eat breakfast.
I’m sure you’ve heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I don’t agree, but then again I don’t disagree. I believe that you should eat all three meals a day. If you begin skipping meals, then your metabolism begins to slow down and actually burn less calories…But also I think that breakfast is maybe the most important meal of the day for the following reasons:
Metabolism Jumpstart! Eating breakfast in the morning, especially right after you wake up, jumpstarts your metabolism and helps burn calories!
Hunger = Overeating??? When you skip breakfast, you get hungrier for lunch and sometimes that can cause you to overeat during your afternoon meal – gosh who wants that??
Energy, Energy, Energy!! Feeling tired? Did you skip breakfast? After “fasting” during the night, your body needs blood sugar and and other good nutrients to be replenished, and eating the right breakfast replenishes, therefore giving you more energy throughout the day!
Food and Focus…Eating in the morning helps you to be focused as you continue to work/study in the morning! Do you feel antsy during the morning school periods? Eat breakfast!
Fruit or Fritos? Eating breakfast in the morning helps you to not eat unhealthy snacks throughout the day. Would you rather eat fruit in the morning or binge on fritos after lunch?
Eating = Weight Loss?? Studies show that breakfast-eaters are actually thinner! Why? Check the reasons above! Also, eating food in the morning helps keep your appetite in check and sets the bar for what you eat for the rest of the day!
So yeah…eat breakfast! It’s good for you! But not only eat breakfast, eat a healthy breakfast! Don’t eat pancakes or the leftover pizza, but instead make healthier choices like the ones I gave you! Having an apple or oatmeal for breakfast is great – just don’t overdo it.
